Enable Engage Mobile App Check-in of QR Code without Scanning a QR Code
Our organization recently deployed QR Codes for personal spaces in one of our satellite offices. During this rollout, we identified a technical limitation: the Engage mobile application does not allow users to check into a QR Code–enabled personal space without physically scanning the QR Code. In contrast, the Engage web application permits requestors to remotely check into their QR Code–enabled personal space.
To ensure feature parity and improve check-in flexibility, we respectfully request an enhancement to the mobile application that would allow users to check into a personal space using the in-app “Check In” button as an alternative to scanning a QR Code.

This is another example of Eptura's web and mobile development teams not ensuring feature parity when one group makes a change to their platform. Other room scheduling vendors, such as Officespace, guarantee feature parity across their web and mobile apps. Eptura should do the same to keep up with their competitors.

For additional context, my organization's business case for transitioning to QR Code is to not enforce physical check-ins at desks, but to avoid deploying costly v3 desk screens that have been challenging to remain operational due to a defective built-in WiFi module. At any given moment, 10% - 15% of our deployed inventory are offline due to the defective built-in WiFi modules. Our IT department often rely on non-IT professionals to assist with the restoration of the device which typically require 2+ attempts of performing a device factory reset to reconnect to WiFi or initiating an RMA.
To accommodate our request to support mobile check-in for QR code-enabled resources, I would image a checkbox would be made available in the Global Settings that would read something like, "Allow check-in on mobile app when QR enabled"; similar to what's available to allow web check-in.
