Block out a group of rooms
Currently, if a room is out of use for a period of time and you want to hide the room you need to create a new group and move the room to that group. It would be good to have a function to close/hide a room at a click of a button.

We’re happy to announce that this feature was included in our latest update. Check out our changelog for more details.

Thanks!

Add ability for admins to take a room out of service for a specified period of time and notify all booking requestors to reschedule for a different room. Possibly incorporate an interface to allow them to moves bookings to similar rooms if available.

Currently, we could not find any function that allow us to block a room for a period to prevent users from booking within the block period. This is necessary because we may need to block the room for maintenance purpose.
The current method of blocking the room is to create a hidden group and assign to the room to this group. But this will effectively remove the room from the users. The users will not be able to see or amend their bookings as well as make booking outside the block period.
One work around is that the administrator make a recurring or block book the room, which what we use. But this cause any issue. Our users have difficulties deleting their recurring booking because the bulk of recurring booking is putting a strain on Condeco database.
Therefore, a function to allow us to make the room unavailable for a period of time while allowing users to still continue to view the existing bookings and to make bookings outside the unavailable period is very useful for administrators.

We need a better way to make resources inactive during construction, remodel, emergencies, etc.

Is it possible to hide a room for a certain time? Because the room is not available..

It would be beneficial to have a better method for taking resources out of use for a period due to things like remodeling, extended projects, etc.
The current suggested methods for using the defined messages and the $blocked$ options work, but are not very polished. I'd prefer having something like a checkbox to make a room unavailable in searches and than options to specify the date ranges when the resource will be unavailable, so you can enter these in advance and have the changes take effect when the start and end dates occur.

Maintenance / construction work as well as "Special Use"-reservations (for instance: temporary work-space for auditors, health care events, etc.) that SPAN SEVERAL DAYS/WEEKS are very common at our company’s HQ. For now, Condeco makes this a very time-consuming process that involves multiple laborious tasks such as either reconfiguring a room to disable auto-cancellation, moving rooms to invisible groups, etc.
Having migrated to Condeco recently from another product which DID HAVE such a “room blocking” function, unfortunately, this is one of those topics where Condeco is causing many hours of extra work.
We would appreciate if Condeco would commit to implement such a feature in the near future, so we can allocate our ressources accordingly. -

Having a function that would allow you to book a room into refurbishment mood and allow you to set to auto kick back in. But also so it moves bookings on your behalf and notifies users of this change.

The ability to block a room after a certain date.
Example - If a room were to be under construction starting April 1st, allow users to book up until that date.Current options only allow to limit how far in advance you can book the room. Blocking user from booking this room a month in advance will not help in this situation on March 20th,, as example.

It is very useful indeed if we can close a group of rooms for a period of time and still allow user can to book the room outside but not within the block period.
For example, you closed Room A from 25 Dec 2018 to 1 Jan 2019. Users can still book Room A before 25 Dec 2018 and after 1 Jan 2019. But they cannot book Room A within between 25 Dec 2018 and 1 Jan 2019 (both dates included).
As the closure of rooms are usually planned ahead, it would be good if we can start blocking the room ahead instead of the start date. As there maybe many bookings within the period that you want to close, it would be good if the system could notify all those with bookings that their booking would not be available and to allow them to change the schedule or book another room.
Currently, the system does not allow us to select future date to close the room nor does it notify the user.

Would it be possible please to have a closure function.
Currently we have 130 meeting rooms the client allocates the rooms to ministers all the time, or maintenance or bank holidays ect.
In our current system we can close the group for a period of time, i.e the 5 day Christmas period, A day for bank holidays, a future period so clients can not book rooms in advance, but still up to that date, i.e the room is closed for refurb 20th December so is is closed from that date for a period of time, however you can still book prior or after.
The room is shown as closed by a grey block so client know its not bookable during that period.
Whilst the room is shut as the Conference Centre may be fully booked with current bookings we can close it down so no further bookings are made and still amend bookings that have already been taken.
We do not want to to close the room with a booking as it may be that bookings are already made and doing it that way will effect the stats.

We really like this idea and are looking into how we can build this into our product. We want to make it easier for admins to perform common tasks, such as blocking out resources for periods when they are out of use.

I would definitely be a nice feature to simply be able to flag a resource as unavailable for a designated period of time with the ability to add details in notes so other Admin are aware of the situation. Once marked as unavailable, the resource would not show in the searches until made available or the date range ended.

As a global company with offices around the globe it is hard to know when an office is closed due to public holidays. To get round this we close each individual room by making a booking for the day and adding a not "public holiday". What would be good is the ability to close off groups of rooms in one hit, as this would save a lot of time.
